Meagan Winings is a beauty queen from Atkinson, Nebraska who has held the Miss Nebraska Teen USA 2004 title[1] and the Miss Nebraska USA 2009 title.[2]

Miss Teen USA 2004

Winings (Miss Sandhills Teen USA) won the Miss Nebraska Teen USA 2004 title on January 1, 2004 over runner-up Canice Coan (Miss Platte County Teen USA). She had competed in 2003, placing 1st runner-up to Leighann Thagard, Miss Douglas County Teen USA. Thagard did not place at Miss Teen USA 2003. The pageant was won by Tami Farrell of Oregon. At Miss Teen USA 2004, Winings placed in the top ten. She was the first teen from Nebraska to ever place at Miss Teen USA. That pageant was eventually won by Shelley Hennig of Louisiana. Her 2004 sister titleholder (Miss Nebraska USA) was Guerin Austin, Miss Regency USA.

Miss USA 2009

In 2008, Winings competed at Miss Nebraska USA as Miss Sandhills USA, and placed 2nd runner-up to Micaela Johnson, Miss Douglas County USA. Johnson did not place at Miss USA 2008, and it was won by Crystle Stewart of Texas on her fifth try. In 2009, Winings again competed as Miss Sandhills USA and won the title of Miss Nebraska USA over runner-up Belinda Wright(Miss Nebraska 2010), Miss Greeley County USA, which was held in Norfolk, Nebraska at the Johnny Carson Theater. Winings failed to place at Miss USA 2009. That pageant was eventually won by Kristen Dalton of North Carolina. Wining's teen sister titleholder was Sarah Hollins, Miss Nebraska Teen USA 2009. At Miss Teen USA 2009, Hollins did not place in the top fifteen. The pageant was eventually won by Stormi Henley of Tennessee. In 2010, Belinda Wright, the first-runner up to Winings from 2009, won the title of Miss Nebraska USA 2010 and placed in the top fifteen at Miss USA 2010, which was eventually won by Rima Fakih of Michigan.

Personal life

Winings in the only child of Gerald and Michelle Winings. She graduated from Pepperdine University, is currently working for her J.D. so that she can work with Law and human rights issues. She is a member of Chicago Advocates and Women In Law, is an editor on the Journal of International and Comparative Law, and she spent the summer of 2009 at Cooney and Conway, a personal injury law firm in Chicago. Winings is also the Clerk of the Phi Alpha Delta Blackstone Chapter. She regularly volunteers at the Open Door Mission and The Susan G. Komen Foundation, because of her mother being a survivor of breast cancer. In her spare time, she enjoys jet skiing, snowboarding, working out, trying new restaurants, shopping, traveling, and being with her family and friends.
